Kay Unger loves to entertain at home.
“My home is my solace,” says Unger. Located in the heart of New York’s SoHo, Chez Kay (as it’s known to family and friends) is often filled with guests. “I love to entertain!” Her chosen neighborhood can be crowded at times, but living in a place with so many fantastic stores and galleries has its advantages. “If I ever feel stalled or stuck, all I have to do is walk around the block.”
Her parties are original, lively, and always boast an exciting mix of guests, ranging from heads of state to people she’s plucked off the street!
She knows how to make an event memorable, even if that means filling her apartment with palm trees for a Puerto Rican brunch!

Lately at Chez Kay…
David and Kay had the exciting honor of hosting the first ever Second Gentleman, Mr. Douglas Emhoff, for dinner with a number of fellow supporters of the Democratic National Committee and the Biden Victory Fund. Chez Kay was decorated lavishly with elaborate and elegant flowers done by Flora Moda, and accents of springtime pinks and greens sprinkled throughout the apartment. The event was a hit, in part due to the unique piano bar in the bedroom and dessert bar in the dressing room….Kay loves getting creative and making it memorable.
